Welcome To The In Between
Have you ever wondered what happens when you let go of expectations? Have you thought about what it would feel like to just let yourself be instead of trying to control every aspect of your life? Have you allowed yourself the quiet luxury of stillness or are you still focused on all the should’s and standards you placed on yourself (or others placed on you) long ago? That is something I’d love to know.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the “in between”.
We have the power to change our lives every single day. We literally hold the key to unlocking whatever door it is we want to step through in life, we just have to remember where we put it.
The in between can be intimidating, overwhelming & extremely uncomfortable. It can be immensely confronting and deeply sad. It can highlight the unknown with a spotlight so bright you no longer have a choice but to follow your flow, to answer your calling, to soften your state.
It’s in the current we become all we’ve always dreamed of. It’s in the chaos we find clarity and in the stillness we find space. It’s in the calm we find coercion and in the hectic we find happiness. The craziest part about being alive is that all things coexist and there is no rule book to how this thing called life really works.
There’s no map to meaning or gps to growth. There’s just being here, trying your best and taking it one day at a time.
If you’re in a season of feeling in between many things or if you don’t feel between anything at all but like a sailor lost in a row boat alone somewhere far off in the sea, I encourage you to remember you have paddles. I want to remind you that if you allow the current to take you ever to slightly in any direction, you can place your paddle in the water and move alongside the wind. I want to also add that you have the power to change direction at any time, take deep breaths, sit in the stillness or SWIM.
WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO, YOU CAN SWIM.
You can also float, look up to the sky and ask for assistance. You were not placed here on this planet, in this lifetime by yourself. There are guides all around and it’s okay (and I encourage you) to ask for help.
You are not alone. You are safe and protected. Boy, do you look beautiful standing there in the in between!
Welcome to my Substack, where I share the inner workings of my brain so I don’t go insane. Honestly I’m fine that just rhymed and flowed like a crisp glass of orange wine.
I love you and I’m so proud of who you’ve been, who you are and who you are becoming.
Sending you a big hug & an aura of light.
Xx,
Alexa
